Victorian Christmas returns to Cardfields

Cardfields staff dressed in Victorian clothing

Christmas is fast approaching, Cardfields is once again hosting a ‘Victorian Christmas’ experience giving children the opportunity to step back in time for a day to experience the smells, tastes, games, stories and crafts of a traditional Victorian Christmas in a Victorian country house.

Children will have the opportunity to take part in a range of activities, they will include:

  • Christmas traditions: exploring the many Christmas traditions that have been passed on to us by the Victorians (for example Christmas trees, crackers, cards) and a chance to see and sample typical Victorian Christmas foods
  • Christmas carols and stories: learning about the origin of, and singing along to, a selection of carols and songs, taking part in a Victorian Christmas story and playing parlour games
  • Christmas arts and crafts: making a traditional Victorian Christmas card, tree decoration and a Christmas wreath using foliage from our garden – children will be able to take their artwork home with them

For further information and costs contact Cardfields.
