Hugh Myddleton School return to Cardfields

Cardfields shelter building

Hugh Myddleton School returned to Cardfields for their Year 6 school journey venue with happy smiling faces. The sun is now shining and children are having a great time within the Essex countryside enjoying the outdoor environment.

The group is learning new skills and making use of all the facilities available at Cardfields. Children have had a fantastic day orienteering to Heather Hills on a 6-mile walk and fun building shelters (camps) within the forest.

They are looking forward to a fun day of activities tomorrow and the rest of the week:

  • BMX biking
  • Bushcraft – learning to build small campfires and cooking toast on them
  • Cave drawing
  • Screen printing
  • Clay modelling
  • Pond dipping and follow up work in the laboratory
  • Andrew Goldsworthy Natural sculpture

After a long eventful walk, they are now sitting down to a home-cooked roast dinner meal prepared by our Chefs followed by toasting marshmallows on the campfire tonight under the beautiful Essex skyline.
