Cardfields Victorian Christmas 2016

Cardfields staff in Victorian Christmas

We hosted Cardfields’ “A Victorian Christmas” for the 10th year running on 4 December. This year, we were joined by pupils and teachers from Grafton Primary School.

Truly unforgettable!

We created a truly immersive day for both the pupils and the staff. We started with Carols around the Christmas tree, played with Victorian toys, and ended with a traditional Christmas dinner. There was also an opportunity for children to learn about the Victorian culture.

Anna Sutton, Headteacher of Grafton Primary School said that the experience was “truly unforgettable”. The children (and adults!) thoroughly enjoyed all of the activities, especially the parlour games — she’s sure that the Xbox is now under threat! “A huge thank you to the chef and staff for a delicious ‘homemade’ Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. This is a perfect way to ‘kick-off’ the festive season.”

A Victorian Christmas

A Victorian Christmas is an opportunity for children to learn about Victorian culture and how many traditions started during this period. All of the staff at Cardfields get involved. They dress up in Victorian clothes and play the role of a Victorian character.
