Cardfields hosted an afternoon tea for the local Hadfelda Women’s Institute (WI) on  Tuesday afternoon. The ladies had a wonderful afternoon enjoying the home-baked cakes and the comfort of Cardfields house.

Marel, President of Hadfelda WI stated “On a cold and windy Tuesday afternoon in January, 18 hungry ladies from Hadfelda, WI in Hatfield Peverel arrived at Cardfields looking forward to an afternoon tea. They were not disappointed!

We were welcomed by Elaine and Angie who showed us into a very pleasant room with large windows overlooking part of the garden. We enjoyed a selection of sandwiches, sausage rolls, and mini quiches, all very nice.

This was followed by scones with jam and cream and some delicious cakes. We were looked after by two lovely ladies who kept us well supplied with tea and coffee. Everyone agreed it had been an excellent afternoon and we’re all looking forward to the next occasion! Many thanks to the staff at Cardfields”.
