Gillespie Primary School was welcomed back to Cardfields for a fun filled week of adventurous activities off and on-site for their school journey.

The young people enjoyed exploring in the five acres of grounds at Cardfields, making most of the space as well as venturing out to the Essex countryside.

The group had the opportunity of learning new skills, making new friends, and being very independent. Fun activities included:

  • Learning to read a compass
  • Orienteering to Heather Hills
  • Shelter building in the woods
  • Bug hunting and identifying insects
  • Pond dipping
  • BMX Biking
  • Observational drawing
  • Archery
  • Trebuchet
  • Canoeing in the River Chelmer and much more!

Ms Wragg lead teacher for Gillespie stated ” As always Cardfields staff have been incredible. We have been made to feel so welcome throughout our visit. Cardfields is ‘child’ and ‘teacher’ friendly on every level. Fantastic impact upon our pupils for outdoor learning. A huge thank you.”
