Cardfields is a large Victorian country house built at the beginning of the 20th century and set in five acres of well-maintained grounds in the Essex countryside close to the River Chelmer.
The main house provides homely and comfortable facilities and has recently been upgraded with new showers and a comfortable lounge area. The house has been painted in keeping with the natural surroundings. There are 11 bedrooms and plenty of beds, so large groups can stay here very comfortably.
The grounds have been designed for our guests to enjoy a range of activities, with a trim trail, BMX track, fully equipped games room, floodlit multi use games area, a football pitch, wooded areas, ponds, lawns and picnic areas. It is the perfect place for nature lovers and those that like to be more active. There is also a lovely sunken garden and a flock of chickens that provide our eggs!
We have a fenced off built barbecue area which guests are encouraged to use during their visit. We also have a camp fire area which is for used of all visiting groups.
Within the five acres of grounds, you will have the opportunity to erect marquees or gazebos at an additional cost. Car and coach parking is available on site if requested in advance.
