Cardfields hosted a surprise 60th birthday celebration for Lizzy Van Tromp’s Mum over the weekend. The group had a wonderful time enjoying the house, grounds, and surrounding Essex countryside whilst the sun shone in February!

The weekend was fully catered so the family had time to relax and enjoy all the facilities. Lizzy rated Cardfields with “Five Stars” with feedback below:

“I actually don’t know where to start! Thank you doesn’t adequately explain how grateful we are for how hard you and your brilliant team worked at the weekend to make my Mum’s 60th birthday celebration a success.

From the moment you warmly welcomed us at the door we felt relaxed and like our event was in safe hands. The house itself is just wonderful, deceptively spacious, comfortable bedrooms, plentiful hot showers, and the huge sunny sitting room was the perfect space to relax with our multi-generational family group. The grounds are simply stunning. The children loved feeding the chickens, playing football on the lawns, tackling the wooden assault course and jumping in muddy puddles. The adults loved relaxing on the sun-drenched patio (how lucky we were to experience such glorious weather in February!) and photographing the wildlife. My Auntie was in heaven after getting some shots of the wild hares. The games room is a fantastic, well-equipped space and this, alongside the outdoor sports court was really well used by my adult brothers. Lee the chef was just amazing! He really took on board all our dietary needs and managed to delight the children & adults alike. He was so accommodating, catering for meat eaters & vegetarians plus various allergies. Every meal was delicious and many of our party declared the food to be the best part of the stay! But for me, the best bit of the whole experience was the staff. They genuinely couldn’t do enough for us. They made us feel so relaxed and were genuinely interested in making my Mum’s 60th Birthday weekend as special as possible. The celebration cake was a lovely touch and we were all sad to leave after making so many happy memories in such a short space of time. I would not hesitate to return & my sister in law is now considering the venue for her wedding.
