Fun time for Montem Primary School

Pulling carrots from soil

Cardfields welcome back Montem Primary School year 6 for an adventurous week.

With a  packed programme, children have had a great time exploring the Essex countryside whilst walking to Heather Hills, learning how to survive in the natural environment by building a shelter. Children have also enjoyed all the facilities that Cardfields offer within the five acres of ground.

Toasting marshmallows on the campfire was a great experience!

Today the children have learnt a new skill – “Gardening”:

  • learning about growing your own vegetables
  • digging for vegetables
  • tasting and identifying herbs from the garden
  • apple and pear picking ready for the Chef to use in his crumbles
  • learning about seeds, sowing the soil

Afternoon programme which provides children with the opportunity to learn more bush crafts skills in building a small campfire and cooking toast. Watch out, Bear Grylls!!
